Non-Iron Cotton Clothing is Amazing!

November 12th, 2008

Now the world of menswear may not be the most technologically advanced sector on the planet, but we do have our innovations, and one of them is non-iron 100% cotton clothes. We’ve got it in dress shirts from Kenneth Cole and dress shirts, sportshirts and khakis from Enro. Yes, one of the best things about this is that you don’t have to iron it or send it out to be laundered or cleaned – you can wash it yourself easily. But I believe the absolute greatest benefit is that you can put on an Enro Non-Iron 100% Cotton Dress Shirt at 6 AM, wear it all day, and it will still look crisp at 6 PM! Imagine getting on a plane in the morning, flying to the West Coast from Boston, and getting off the plane, not looking like you slept in your clothes. It’s truly amazing!  The other amazing thing is that they are all available at a great sale price of only $49.99!

Vested Interest

November 3rd, 2008

Vests are going to be the hottest thing this Fall! Whether you wear a vested suit from Jones New York or Calvin Klein, put on a separate coordinating vest from Ben Sherman, or a wool sweater vest; it’s a great accessory that makes you stand out. If you wear a tie, push the tie up so it pokes out of the top of the vest just a bit. If you wear it over an open collared shirt it looks terrific particularly with the sleeves rolled up. Either way, you’ll stand out and look like a sharp-dressed man!

Real Men Wear Pink

October 23rd, 2008

This October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and most of us have been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. In order to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, Miltons has joined with jewelry designer Diane Katzman and will feature her new line of neckwear called “REAL MEN WEAR PINK.” This is a beautiful line of neckwear in a pure silk tri-fold-make all featuring the pink ribbon motif of breast cancer awareness. The ties sell at Miltons for $79.99, a $95 value, and a portion of the proceeds are donated for Breast Cancer Research.

Taking Care of Shoes

October 14th, 2008

Did you know the inside of your shoes can reach temperatures of 120 degrees? There are easy ways to take care of your shoes whether they are dress or casual, Kenneth Cole, Mezlan, Bostonian, Ecco, Clarks or Lacoste!

First, make sure you don’t wear the same shoe two days in a row-they need a rest too. Second, use shoe trees after each wearing. Shoes trees are made of natural cedar which absorbs the moisture and heat. They are also constructed with springs so that they retain the original shape and prevent curling and cracking. Third, on your leather shoes, use shoe cream to maintain a great look and take care of the leather. Finally, when it rains or snows, don’t wear your shoes out unprotected, unless they’re made for that weather. That’s why Totes makes rubbers and lots of shoes come with rubber soles.

The Usefulness of the Blazer

October 2nd, 2008

Many people scorn the wearing of a blazer, sportcoat or suit because they think it’s too formal, not in keeping with the business casual trend of dressing today – even if it’s Hugo Boss, Abboud, Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren. Well, they don’t know what they’re missing.

If you ever travel, your blazer will save you a lot of time and hassle. Just put all your “stuff” in the pockets and you won’t have to empty them on the tray as you go through the x-ray machine. Just take your jacket off, walk through and put it back on after both you and your jacket have been scanned. Oh, and if you leave off the tie, you’ll look just fine!

Not an airport traveler? The blazer is still a great piece in your wardrobe. Imagine getting up to go to work, it’s chilly in the morning and you know it will be warm by the time you leave the office at five. A blazer is the perfect “jacket” to keep you warm without looking like you’re dressed for a walk in the Arctic!
